Generations Church: Statement of Faith

The Holy Scriptures: We believe that the Scriptures (Old and New Testament) are given by the inspiration of God and are profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Corinthians 10:11).
The Trinity: We believe in the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – one God, eternally existent in three persons (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 5:7).

The Deity of Christ: We believe Jesus is God incarnate and was manifested in human flesh. He was like us in all ways except for being free from sin (Isaiah 9:6-7, John 1:1-14, John 5:22-23, John 8:54-58, John 10:30).

The Virgin Birth: We believe that our Lord was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23).
Christ Died for Our Sins: We believe in the vicarious atoning death of Jesus, who died on the cross so that we might live, offering himself as a perfect sacrifice for sinful man—the salvation of man (Romans 5:6-10, 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10, John 3:16–17).

The Bodily Resurrection and Ascension of Christ: We believe Christ is the risen Savior, having arisen from the dead, has ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:31-25, Acts 1:8–11).

The Fall of Man: We believe that man, by voluntary transgression, fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death (Romans 5:12-19).

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: We believe all believers are entitled to and should earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Acts 8:12-17, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 11:14-16, Acts 15:7-9).

All Believers are to Walk by Faith: We believe that through hearing the word of God, faith comes to the believer. Faith is exercised by believing in the heart, confessing what one believes from the word of God, and being a doer of the word. Through faith, we have access to all the grace of God—salvation, forgiveness, deliverance, baptism in the Holy Spirit, knowledge of His word, answered prayer, and a personal relationship as a child of God (Romans 10:17, Mark 11:23, James 2:18, Romans 5:2, Matthew 9:29).

Believers Have Dominion Over Sin, Satan, and Self: We believe Christians have power over all the enemy and should live a lifestyle that represents the life of Christ. Sin has no more dominion over the believer. Christ is an overcomer and victorious, and as His body, we are the same through Him (Luke 10:19, Matthew 10:7–8, Romans 6:9, Romans 6:14, Matthew 1:21, Ephesians 1:19-23).

All Believers Should Walk in Holiness and Purity: We believe holiness is the goal for all disciples, and all sexual perversions (fornication, adultery, and homosexuality) are considered sin (2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:24-27).
Jesus is the Head of the Church: We believe Christ is the head of the church, and all attention and glory are directed to Him alone. Christ is the one we preach, praise, worship, and serve (Ephesians 1:22, John 12:32).

Jesus is Coming for the Church: We believe Christ will literally come again for His church—perfected, without spot or blemish, looking for faith in the lives of believers. The Saints, the bride of Christ, will reign with Him forever (Luke 18:8, Ephesians 5:27, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 4:17).
Jesus is the Only Way to Heaven: We believe all must be born again to enter the kingdom of God, to obtain His blessings, to have peace with God, and to meet Him in the air as His bride, without spot or blemish (John 14:6, Romans 10:9, John 3:3).

The Sacraments and Ordinances: We believe in the ordinances by which one can demonstrate and express their faith: Holy Communion, Baptism, Anointing the Sick, Holy Matrimony between a man and a woman, Child Dedication, and Ordination of Ministers. We hold these sacraments as sacred (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:24-27, Acts 1:9, Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 12:13, James 5:14-15, Matthew 19:5-6, Hebrews 13:14, Ephesians 5:32, Deuteronomy 6:4-7, Luke 2:22, Acts 13:1-4, 1 Timothy 2:7, Exodus 28:41).

The Institution of the Home: We believe life begins in the home. Marriage is between a man and a woman only. God created the institution of marriage as the holy union between one man and one woman, according to the Holy Scriptures. No other form of union or marriage is acceptable in the eyes of God or by this corporation/Academy. "But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 20:6-9 NKJV, Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13, 16, Genesis 2:18-25, Proverbs 5:18-19, 1 Corinthians 7:1).

Eternal Judgment: We believe all will be judged—the Saints for their works, the sinners to damnation, and Satan and all his demons to the lake of fire (1 Corinthians 3:13-15, Revelation 20).
